Okay it's time for a little shameless self-promotion! My name is Thomas Hensel and I'm a Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney. I've been practicing for a little more than 13 years now. I opened my firm –Hensel Law Office, PLLC - in 2008. My practice is 100% dedicated to representing Debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.

Prior to opening my firm I spent considerable time representing Creditors – primarily banks and credit unions – in the bankruptcy arena. This means I know both sides of the equation. I'm a member of National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the Michigan based Consumer Bankruptcy Association (CBA). I've been a speaker and a panelist at several of their seminars and attended countless others. In short, I keep up on the state of this particular area of the law – which is a must because it is constantly changing and evolving.

I'm a solo practitioner which means I handle all aspects of your case from your initial interview to your trip to Court to the time you obtain your Discharge – and sometimes even after that. I regularly take evening appointments (and sometimes Saturday appointments) to meet with clients who simply cannot afford to miss work or arrange for childcare. I offer a free initial consultation, which typically lasts between 30 and 60 minutes (though no time limit is set).

My main office is located in Sterling Heights at: 36250 Deqindre Road, Suite #410, Sterling Heights, MI 48310. I also have an office in Brighton to serve clients in Livingston (Howell, South Lyon, Pinckney, etc.), Genesee (Fenton, Flint, etc.) and Washtenaw (Ann Arbor, etc.) Counties.

If you find yourself in a financial bind – being harassed by a creditor, facing a possible foreclosure or repossession, having your wages garnished, or maybe you're just getting by paycheck to paycheck - and you want to explore your options under Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 please feel free to contact me directly and I'll be happy to see what I can do to assist you.
